Find out about the treatment and management of COPD.

Nimoy was most famous for his role as half human, half Vulcan scientist Mr. Spock, which he played for almost 50 years. He also starred in the television show Fringe alongside Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson. What many people don’t know is that Leonard was suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and he passed away from complications of the condition on February 27, 2015, at the age of 83.

Nimoy’s daughter, Julie, talks about his battle with COPD and shares some of the disease’s frightening statistics. In a bid to educate people and raise awareness of COPD, Nimoy announced that he had the disease in February 2014 and worked tirelessly in his final months to help people realize the dangers of smoking.
