The Realities of Living With COPD
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a severe lung condition that affects all areas of a person’s life. It can make patients unable to catch their breath, struggle to do any physical activity, suffer from acute coughing fits and even struggle to talk.
In this video from COPD Life is Calling, we meet people living with COPD in Canada and hear what they have to say about some of the physical effects of the debilitating condition.
Gary from Yukon explains that his COPD made him unable to lie down on his bed and sleep and would often make him feel like a fish out of water “gulping for air,” while Lois from Ontario explains that her chest pain can be so severe she thinks she might be having a heart attack.
